Away3D I've tested on mobile and my experience about them:
Performance killer
- don't use dynmaic shadows
- don't use flint(optimze your particles system)
- don't use too many lights
- don't use smooth bitmap texture
- don't use larger texture(>512x512) especially on iPad1 and HTC Desire
- don't use skybox
